Lake Macquarie
As the largest saltwater lake in the Southern Hemisphere, the beautiful Lake Macquarie is ideal for water sports and coastal getaways.

Catherine Hill Bay
Take a stroll around a State Heritage-listed historic coal mining village which takes its name from the ship which ran aground here in 1867.
Nestled in the hinterland just south of Swansea, the 19th-century miners' cottages in Catherine Hill Bay mark the oldest continuous settlement in Lake Macquarie.
Caves Beach
A very popular attraction in the area is Caves Beach. It is a beautiful unspoilt beach with stunning coastal views.

Belmont Baths

With a netted swimming area set along a 70 metre jetty, it has sheltered picnic spots and family-friendly amenities.
Watagans National Park
Encompassing dense rainforests, creeks and waterfalls, Watagans Natonal Park boasts some of the country’s finest rainforest scenery.
The area also houses a rich cultural heritage with more than 40 Aboriginal sites highlight art and engraving techniques, and remnants showcasing settlement history in the area.
